SKOPJE AIRPORT WON ASQ BEST EUROPE AIRPORT АWARD FOR 2015

Airports Council International (ACI) awarded Skopje ”Alexander the Great’’ as Best Europe Airport in service quality, in the category – Best Airport by region under 2 million passengers per year, which is the third time Skopje Airport receives this award by the prestigious aviation organization

Skopje International Airport  won ASQ Best Airport Award for 2015 in the category – Best Airport by region under 2 million passengers per year, which is the third time to receive this recognition by the prestigious aviation organization, after the awards won in the same category in 2012 and 2013.

The world’s premier passenger service benchmarking program for airports, Airports Council International (ACI), announced 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards yesterday evening in Montreal, Canada, after delivering over 550.000 in depth passenger surveys at over 300 airports across more than 80 countries worldwide last year.

The 2015 results represent the world’s best in class airports where improving the customer experience is concerned—appraised by passengers while they are traveling and the experience is fresh in their minds.

-We are very proud to know that we won ASQ (Airport Service Quality) Best Airport Award for 2015, which is the third time we receive this prestigious recognition, after the awards we won in 2012 and 2013. This is a confirmation of our commitment to passengers and airlines, as well as to the increased number of routes and the improved services, for which we are thankful to the efforts made by our affiliate companies BTA - that operates with the food and beverages services, ATU – that operates the duty free shops, ТAV IT – that manages information-communication services, and TAV MOS- that manages with the other operational services. Furthermore, 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) award will motive us, as airport management company, to continue with the improvement and innovation of the total offer of the airport services’’, stated Zoran Krstevski, TAV Macedonia General Manager.

Besides Skopje Airport as winner in customer service in Europe, in the category of airports under 2 million passengers, on the other continents in this category,  winners are Upington Airport in Africa, Portland Airport in North America, and Culiacan Airport in Latin America – Caribbean.

-Airports increasing concentration on ensuring a stellar passenger experience is part of a larger trend. Airports have evolved into complex, customer-focused businesses in their own right that in many cases are in competition with each other for passenger traffic. From duty free and restaurants to ambience, cleanliness, courtesy of staff, amenities, efficiency and more, air travelers are expecting big things from the airports through which they travel. More than anything, ASQ is a way for participants to measure the extent to which they deliver on these expectation, noted Angela Gittens, General Director of ACI World.

The ASQ Survey covers 34 key service areas and includes 8 major categories such as access, check-in, security, airport facilities, food and beverage, retail and more. All participating airports use the same survey questions, creating an industry standard set of responses that allows participants to track and analyze their performance, as well as benchmark results against airports across the globe.

The awards ceremony for the 2015 ASQ top performers will take place at the 2016 ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly in Gold Coast, Australia.
