TAV Macedonia General Manager in Prague presented the touristic potential of Macedonia and opened the topic for reestablishing the direct air route Skopje-Prague
On the workshop titled: “The Touristic Potential of Macedonia” held this morning, 10th March, in Prague, TAV Macedonia General Manager, Nejat Kurt, presented the touristic potential of Macedonia and the role of Macedonian airports in the travel industry, in front of the most prominent Czech travel agencies and tour operators.

On invitation of the Czech Ambassador in Macedonia, His Excellency Jaroslav Ludva and Prague Airport CEO, Jiri Pos, Kurt in Prague opened the topic for reestablishing the route between the two capitals, Skopje and Prague, emphasizing that all stakeholders in aviation, tourist industry and diplomacy, must work together in order to create a demand for an airline that will find its business reasons to launch this direct air route.
“Besides the capital investments we have done to modernize the Macedonian airports, at the same time throughout the years, we have put many efforts to market not just the two Macedonian airports, but also Macedonia as a touristic destination to many foreign tour operators and airlines.

This is how many airlines launched new destinations from Skopje and Ohrid airports for the first time. We truly believe in the touristic potential of Macedonia; therefore we fully engage in its promotion, on every aviation and tourism fair that TAV Airports exhibits, on all aviation conferences where we can meet with the focal people from airlines and tour operators. I hope you’ll discover Macedonia as a new travel option for Czech citizens and I’m confident that today we will start new partnerships with some of you who’ll be interested in our market. Let’s work together and create a demand for a direct air connection between Skopje and Prague, that can lead to re-establishing the direct air route between the two capitals by an airline that will find its business reasons to launch it”, stated Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager.
The workshop at Prague Airport, titled “The touristic potential of Macedonia” gathered the most prominent travel agencies and tour operators from Czech Republic. They were introduced with the potential of Macedonia and the travel possibilities for Czech tourists.
TAV Macedonia presented the beauties of the country and the potential of Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport to serve direct flights from Prague to Skopje and Ohrid.
As a follow up to today’s workshop in Prague, a workshop with Macedonian travel agencies will be organized by TAV Macedonia in Skopje for the Czech tour operators where both sides will be able to have business-to-business meetings, with a final goal - flights between the two capitals.
