TAV Airports: Skopje International Airport again received a prestigious award from ACI for Easiest Airport Journey in Europe


TAV Macedonia, TAV Airports’ subsidiary, the airport operator announces that Skopje International Airport has been again recognized with the 2024 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for Easiest Airport Journey in Europe, solidifying its reputation as a leader in passenger experience while traveling through the airport. The award-winning airports have been revealed yesterday, March 10th, 2025, by Airports Council International (ACI), highlighting airports excelling in providing seamless, efficient, and stress-free travel.

Skopje International Airport has earned the 2024 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award in the category ‘Easiest Airport Journey’, and it was selected based on feedback from its esteemed passengers who completed the ASQ survey, which measures key performance indicators such as check-in efficiency, security screening, wayfinding, and overall ease of navigation. This ASQ Award by ACI, which Skopje Airport earned 10 times, reflects TAV Macedonia’s commitment to innovation, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Recently, Skopje Airport has introduced fast track, Self-Service Baggage Drop-Off points, baggage repack area, an improved hold baggage handling system, the innovative initiative by engaging Skopje Airport Zen Dog, music performances, upgraded and improved signage within the airport perimeter and the airport terminal building, it also became a silent airport thus reducing noise pollution, etc., which all complement to meeting passengers’ expectations in terms of airport service quality and at the same time enhance the airport travel journey experience thus making it memorable.
     
Skopje Airport belongs to an ASQ panel of 20 airports, in the category of Europe-based airports sized for 2-5 million passengers per year. Besides Skopje International Airport, the other airports within this panel are airports based in Italy, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Norway, Cyprus, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Zagreb Airport, and Tbilisi Airport – Georgia, Milas-Bodrum Airport – Turkiye, also operated by TAV Airports.

2024 marked a milestone for the ASQ program, with almost 700,000 surveys filled, and over half of the world’s travelers passing through an ASQ-rated airport, underscoring the program's pivotal role in shaping global service standards. A record-breaking 181 ASQ Awards were presented to 95 airports across the globe, recognizing their commitment to exceptional passenger experience.

According to the ASQ program quota, in 2024, 1,408 passengers were surveyed at Skopje International Airport, and the field agents conducting the ASQ survey interviewed at least 350 passengers per quarter.

The ASQ Awards are the aviation industry’s most prestigious airport service quality honors based on direct passenger feedback. This recognition reinforces Skopje International Airport’s status as a regional and global leader in effortless and passenger-friendly travel.
