TAV AIRPORTS & EVN MACEDONIA: E-VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS NOW AVAILABLE AT SKOPJE AND OHRID AIRPORTS
In alignment with their sustainability strategies and dedication to customer convenience, EVN Macedonia, in partnership with TAV Macedonia, are jointly introducing a new service: electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Skopje and Ohrid Airports.
As of today passengers, customers, guests, and staff at Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport – will have an additional service and convenience available – four e-vehicle (EV) charging stations. This new advantage, that further enriches the offering at TAV Airports is enabled by EVN Macedonia and is also in line with both companies’ sustainability and continuous customer service improvement strategies.
The newly installed AC and DC EV charging stations are strategically located in the parking areas of both airports and can simultaneously charge up to eight electric vehicles—six at Skopje and two at Ohrid Airport.
"After being the first company to establish a nationwide electric vehicle charging infrastructure, we are now intensifying our efforts to expand a fast-charging network through strong business alliances and local community partnerships. Our cooperation with TAV Macedonia allows us to further support the mobility of EV owners, which is part of our long-term strategy. In addition to providing over 100 chargers in 18 different cities across the country, we are focusing on placing fast chargers along key travel corridors that drivers use for both national and international trips," stated Wolfgang Maier, Chairman of the EVN Macedonia Management Board.
"As TAV Airports, we are excited to launch e-vehicle charging stations as a new opportunity and convenience at Skopje and Ohrid airports. This initiative of TAV Airports providing fast-charging for the growing number of e-vehicle users enables them to recharge their e-vehicles and aligns with our commitment and core corporate value – responsibility. Nonetheless, this advantage for the airport customers is another evidence of our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable practices at the airports where we operate. What is also important for us is that improvements like this enrich the passenger and customer experience while traveling through our airports, or meeting or greeting their friends and family members.", said Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager.
The technical teams from both TAV Macedonia and EVN Macedonia collaborated this project, contributing to the broader mission of promoting environmental awareness. Alongside the environmental benefits, the introduction of EV charging stations underscores both companies’ commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and advancing corporate social responsibility for a sustainable future.
